Would you ever....choose to have a super power?

Wouldn't it be so much fun to have a super power, even just for a few hours? Here are a few of my favorites. G-Girl. Okay, so she had a bit of a rage problem, but how fun would it be to throw a shark through the window of the guy who treated you like dog crap? Uh, huh, that's what I'm talking about. Although she did have the pesky business of saving the world like every five minutes and I so wouldn't want to have to deal with that.

How about Storm from X-men, who could control the weather? Can you say no more bad hair days?

Ever wish you could read someone's thoughts? Mel Gibson was an awesome mindreader in What Women Want. It would be pretty cool, but I don't think I'd be very good at keeping the thoughts to myself.

Invisibility: Sue Storm from Fantastic Four
How fun would it be to run around in the buff
spying on people and they wouldn't even know it? The only problem with Sue's power is that
I'm not sure I could keep from spying on her brother (see below).

The Human Torch: Johnny wouldn't even have to snap his fingers to get me hot! Other than being a big hit at barbeques though, I'm not sold on this super power.

Shapeshifting: Mystique from X-men

How wicked would it be to walk into the grocery store looking like this? I think this is the power I'd choose. To be able to rearrange your molecules to look and sound like anyone. Oh man, you could totally mess with people.

So what cool thing would you like to be able to do?

HAH - you kidding? I'd want the power of telekenesis...which would only serve to increase my already alarming laziness. LOL. I'd be the only 800-pound woman with super powers, because I wouldn't be able to resist calling those darn peanut butter cups to me.

First of all, this is one terrific blog post! I want everyone one of those super powers!

But I think I'd like the ability to give people mental nudges. Like to get a cute guy to ask you out, or a teacher to choose you from a classroom of raised hands, or a coach to let you handle a crunch situation. That would be pretty cool!

Steph,

I'd like to have a superpower, but I'd like to pick which one it would be. I'd love to be able to speak every language in the universe.

Tina, I'd like to give people mental nudges, too!

Oh, great one, Simone, to speak all languages!

I would like to time travel, like Hiro on Heroes. Not to change things, but to go back to a perfect day and revisit it. I don't think I'd enjoy the future so much, though. Because once you knew it, you might be tempted to change things... you know?

But, if you could go back in time and visit with people you lost? How cool -- like to be a kid again on the 4th of July at my grandma's house where we did sparkler parades and ate watermelon on the backporch, listening to all her stories...

Aw, Heather, that's sweet! (And I thought you weren't a girly-girl.)

Steph, I'm with you on Mystique. Especially considering the difficulties I've been having with my hair lately (you might be in for a surprise at conference) I'd love to be able to change it in an instant. And without the $200 price tag. =)

Hugs,
TLC

Love it!!! I'm with Tina...I want all of these powers, as well. I would love to speak all languages. I think I'd also want to be able to know what someone I'm talking to ... what they're really thinking. LOL!

= )

Great post! I think shapeshifting would kick ass (especially if i looked like Rebecca Romijn! lol)
I'm constantly having this conversation because I watch Heroes, but all their powers look kind of annoying. Claire can NEVER die--sorry, but that doesn't sound all that great. And another guy catches on fire at the drop of a hat, nearly killing his wife--uh, no thanks. Another dude has raging migraines because he can read peoples thoughts, and the guy that can timetravel hardly ever "actually" time travels because he forgets how to do it!
Their powers are LAMO!!!
