I’m off on a short trip, to take care of some family business. Not my idea of a good time, but when fine-tuning the details, I did come up with something in the “plus column”:
lots of sitting around + no internet =
lots of sitting around + no internet =
huge pockets of reading time.
Whoa! A chance to sort of/kind of/at least attempt to catch up on my reading!
So what did I pick? First, the book I am currently reading, Paula Yoo’s Good Enough. Which my friend and daughter loved, and I’ve been trying to “get back to.” Next, Jessica Burkhart’s Take The Reins which just came in the mail. Then I went to Amazon to download something on my Kindle (my new toy!) and the Stephanie Plum Christmas book, Plum Spooky. That will more than hold me.
Some of you may have lots of reading time, but that’s just not my life right now. In any case, I pose this question to you: if you suddenly had a flight ahead of you and could take ANY book you wanted (and feel free to make one up, like “the 5th Twilight book”) with you, what would it be?

Right now, it would be the audio version of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. I've been working on it for a long time, listening while I commute. Started at the beginning of January and I'm about halfway through this 1000 page book. I really need to finish and if I had a flight ahead of me it would be perfect!
Deadly little Secret because I'm so close to finishing it (not really but enough that I can't not and Unwind because I stopped it when DLS finally came from Amazon.
*Or* your new book & Perfect Chemistry since I don't actually possess either of those ;)

(but the flight would have to be in a good while because right now I'd be too worried about my dog & why I was going anywhere to read anyway :p)
And I hope all the family stuff ends up okay :)
Thanks for the mention, Tina! I hope everything goes well with your family.
Hi,
I hope all goes well with your family. I'd take your new book with me, since I haven't read it yet.
I'd take Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt or Th1rteem R3easons Why by Jay Asher. I love those books so much.
Have a safe trip Tina.
I'd have to say...something by Sandra Brown. First read her on a plane trip and it's sort of a "habit" of mine now.
Have a great trip, Tina! = )
I'd take Janette Rallison's newly optioned book, "My Fair Godmother".
If I was being good, I'd probably take my RITA books to finish. If I was being bad, I'd have to go with Marley's choice of Sandra Brown. I'm getting addicted to her lately.
Have a safe trip, Tina!
Hey, all, I'm back (quick, huh?) and thanks for the good wishes.
Wonderful answers, all (and Book Spot and Janie get special recognition for mentioning my new book-haha) but I have to ask for more details on Chuck's comment...
Janette Rallison, did I miss something? Did get your book optioned for film rights???
