My Favorite Waterfall

This week we're celebrating the release of Fins Are Forever, the highly anticipated sequel to Tera Lynn Child's Forgive My Fins. Its official book birthday is one week from today! Yay!
And to help celebrate this momentous occasion, we're talking about our favorite water memories.

There are three ways to get to my house, but we usually take a road that goes up Ogden Canyon, and in this canyon is a waterfall. It's one that can be turned off and on, so on any given day it might be going full blast or just a trickle, and in the winter it is usually frozen (so pretty!). People stop and take photos, get engaged, etc. in front of this lovely feature. What I love most is how excited my boys get to see it each time we pass. They make bets on how much it's turned on and through the years it's become a tradition.

I've been to Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Alaska--all famous for their waterfalls. And yes, those are spectacular. But this one will always mean the most to me because it reminds me of home.

What is your favorite water feature, either natural or man-made? Please do share! Three lucky commenters this week will win a Fins pack from Tera Lynn Childs. Click HERE for all the exciting details. And congrat's, TLC! I can't wait to read Fins Are Forever!

So is it man-made or does it just turn on and off on its own?

I saw many fabulous waterfalls in Hawaii, as well. The one that really stands out is on Oahu, and required a lengthy climb. Can't recall the name but SO worth the walk!

It's man-made, ylime1981.

Tina, I agree, the best waterfalls are the ones you hike all day to see! And then swim under! :)

I love those fountains that shoot up from the ground and I have no idea why. I think because, as a child, my mother was one of those who didn't care if I ran through it or not as long as I didn't slip and break something XD

Pretty! I have to say Manuwili Falls in Hawaii. Maybe that's the one you're thinking of too, Tina! :)

Though not the most beautiful waterfall I have ever seen, the one that was literally down the street from my house growing up will always be my favorite. It's a man made waterfall out of a little man made reservoir and it's not that tall, but all of us neighborhood kids used to love bikeriding there, climbing up to the top and pretending that we were at the top of the world. I will always love that place. :)

I haven't really traveled to any exotic location with waterfalls or anything like that, but I do find waterfalls very beautiful and serene. There is this waterfall near my friend's house that just looks and sounds so peaceful. It's man-made, but it's beautiful.

I LOVE the colour of the ocean, the way the sun tricks you into thinking the water is blue. It's just gorgeous and i love that my pool looks blue (cause of our lining of course) but it's nice to lounge in front of. I also love waves, they're amazing and a thing of beauty! Especially the high ones!

Congrats TLC!

I absolutely love waterfalls. One of the best I've seen are the ones at this national park we go to all the time, and it's a super long hike but it's back in the middle of the woods and absol.utely gorgeous.

I also love all the water features in Wyoming - especially at Yellowstone!

I love Multnomah Falls, outside Portland, OR. It is always fun to hike to the top!

I love Ruby Falls in Tennessee. It is super cheesy and touristy with all the signs and barns that say "See Ruby Falls" and such but it is worth the kitch to see an underground waterfall.

I love big water fountains, they look so.. elegant and calm.

water feature? Why, the sound of course!

From the rain to a brook to the woosh of a waterfall or crashing of the waves, its all beautiful to me. If I'm ever in need of relaxing I just have to run the shower or go for a hike and suddenly all my troubles seem so far away...

Wait, that's a song.

I love waterfalls! I've only visited one waterfall so far. It is located in Lata Kinjang, Malaysia.
