I'm not normally this neurotic! Okay, maybe I am!

Hello blog people, your girl Friday here. Yes, I realize I posted this on Thursday night. So all week I've been fretting about what witty things to say. I mean, why in the world did I pick Friday to blog? Now I have to live up to the four other great posts. But I figured I'm a pro, I can handle this. I was prepared to dazzle you all with a movie and book review. Then I got some really, really, really BAD news in my inbox tonight.
It was from my editor.
She wants...I don't know if I can finish this. She wants a...a...a...PICTURE of ME for my back cover ASAP! Yes, that was me you could hear screaming. I was totally unprepared for this. I thought that I would have until at least, like, December. She asked if I could email her something immediately. Do you think the myspace profile picture that I took myself would work? Yeah, I didn't think so.
So even if she gives me until Monday (which doesn't seem unreasonable, does it?) That gives me until Saturday to lose fifty pounds, get my unibrow waxed, get the three zits on my neck and the one on my chin to disappear and find something to wear. I'm seriously freaking out.

I know this probably seems kind of vain. But I worked SO hard to get published and I really wanted the picture to be perfect. I'm so freaking out right now. I'll probably give myself a cold sore. Thanks for letting me vent. Now on to my witty movie and book review.

I get a lot of crushes (don't tell my husband) so I figured it would be fun to share them with you. Stephanie's crush of the week is a yummy boy by the name of Steven Straight. Steven is the star of the new movie, The Covenant. If you are in the mood for a dark, loud, action-packed movie chalk full of hotties, check it out. I loved it! Here Steven is calling me and I was all like, "I told you. We can only be friends because I'm married."

If you can't get out to the movies and still want a little weyotch action may I suggest Kelly McClymer's new book, THE SALEM WITCH TRYOUTS. It really is an adorable little read. I had a pic of her book, but I can't get it to load, sorry.

Have a great weekend and tune in next week for more on the continuing saga about my author pic. :)

Stephanie

I feel your pain about the pic, but VERY cool they want to put you on the back cover. My publishing house doesn't do pics on covers. That Steven guy is one cute dude! Now get some sleep, take a deep breath, and your face will clear up in no time...

Oh! My! God! I love Steven Straight! Did you see him in SKY HIGH? With long hair and that whole dark-brooding-bad boy thing... yum. Excellent choice.

And stop fretting about the picture. You are adorable and totally photogenic. If you're serious about your neurosis, even Glamour Shots offers photo retouching... it works wonders! Besides, a little visine makes red zits disappear. =)

First, uh, yum! Very cute guy.

Second, you are super cute yourself! Photogs know how to zap away all the unwanted stuff, anyway. That's the miracle of modern technology. And, I'm totally going to try the Visine thing, Tera.

Have a fun, stress-free weekend Buzz Girls!

I know - the author photo is anguish inducing!!! My book comes out in spring 2008 and I just had my pics taken Wednesday. Now I have to make sure I still look exactly like this for the next year and a half...

One word sooths me as I think about this - Photoshop :)

I'm looking forward to seeing The Covenant. The Hottie Scale is off the charts with all the fine-lookin' males in that movie. And yes Tera, I saw Steven in SKY HIGH. But did you see him in UNDISCOVERED? You wanna talk about Hottie on a stick. And he can sing, too!

Thanks for informing the forum about this blog. I'll have to add it to my blogroll

Hi ladies. Love the blog - especially all the discush about hotties.

Congrats Stephanie. How are you finding the time to moonlight here and keep up with all the 2K7 work? Shhh...I won't rat you out. LOL

Ooh and me too, Tera, loved Steven in SKY HIGH. It was amazing how much cuter he was when he pulled his hair back...then again, the grunge look worked for him too!

You can always opt for a tongue-in-cheek picture that fits the plot of your story, rather than a posed Sears shot! Of course, your editor and publisher may want it to be the latter, which is more professional - but don't fret. Some of the best author photos are those taken by friends or family members, because the subject of the photo is more at ease with the familiar photographer. Don't freak out.

Fun new blog. And I was going to see The Covenant yesterday but my movie buddy couldn't find a babysitter.

He totally reminds me of Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles. What a hottie.
