You know, those cool little sheets of plastic where you could trace line drawings of your favorite cartoon characters that you could color in and then bake into ... well, smaller, colored in drawings of your favorite cartoon characters. If you need a more visual reminder, here goes.
But, apparently, the post-80s generation has taken Shrinky Dinks to a whole new level. Here are some awesome Shrinky Dinks designs I found online:

Boy, let's see...Super balls, Lite-Brite, SpinArt, Incredible Edibles, Spyrographs, Clase-n-play record players, and all things Partridge Family. There are more I'm sure, but it was aLONG time ago!
Colorforms (the little plastic, flat cut-outs that you'd stick to boards illustrated with a scene). They were reusable and hours of entertainment. I had nearly every Snoopy set. Loved them!
I'm still bitter because my parents never let me have a Lite-Bright 'cause like ONE kid got electrocuted by it. :::sigh:::
I have to admit that I had no clue what a Shrinky Dink was. First time I've seen them.

I wanted Shrinky Dinks, but for some reason, I never got them!
I did adore Incredible Edibles, though. Yum! And so fun.
I also loved spirograph, though the gears always popped up and ruined my drawing...
And YAY for Colorforms! (I'd forgotten what they were called...)

OMG, I LOVED Shrinky Dinks! I had Smurf ones. I loved watching them shrink up in the oven. :)
Ahem... does Teddy Ruxpin ring a bell? Apparently he's back, too.
But my favorite for 80's cheese is "My Buddy" - do you remember that? It was a doll for boys that was big enough to ride on a big wheel with a kid. "My buddy, my buddy - wherever he goes, I go." Scary!
