Release Week for Marley Gibson!

We’re celebrating the arrival of Buzz Girl Marley Gibson’s TWO new releases this week. Ghost Huntress: The Guidance and The Other Side: A Teen’s Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal.

Marley has really tapped a nerve with all this ghost stuff. My little niece, who is eight, has loved everything to do with ghosts forever. When she was six she told my dad she wanted to be a ghost hunter when she grew up. He asked her what equipment she would need and she listed off all these magnetic reader things and flashlights and then… a plunger.

Dad was like, a plunger? But, he didn’t burst the kid’s dreams. Later, he was watching the show Ghost Hunters and he noticed that they were PLUMBERS for their day job. Hence, the plunger.

I’m buying Marley’s new book for my niece to enjoy. She’s just getting into reading, but anything with ghosts is bound to be irresistible.

And speaking of irresistible, have you met my friend Marley Gibson? She is one of the most positive, kind, funny, and sweet people I know. And her books are wonderful! I am so happy for Marley and her well-deserved success. She is amazing.

I hope you’ll pick up Marley’s books this week – and of courses, leave a comment to enter to win a copy of BOTH books!

Answer this… do you think children have a greater sensitivity to seeing ghosts?

Comment to enter!! Congratulations, Marley!!!

Hugs,

Heather

I think a lot of children THINK they can see ghosts because they have great imaginations.

I don't know. Maybe? I'd think older, elderly people would have a better sense. I think of it as a gift of wisdom? I guess innocence might be a factor to think children might sense it better. Not sure. :)

I think that children are more sensitive to supernatural happenings and then it gets lost in the hubbub of life. I might be wrong but I think I've read that humans are perhaps born with something called archaic understanding that allows us to have a greater awareness of life and supernatural but it wanes as we develop into adults. It would be kind of awesome if we could figure out how to hold on to it.

YES AND NO I don't think they have any extra sencory perception, but I do think they are more likely to SEE it rather than pass it off as a trick of the light or their imagination.

I would say children have about imagination? I'm really not sure what I believe about ghosts....?

I don't think they're extra sensitive. I just think they have vivid imaginations and believe in what they think they are seeing.

I believe so because they are so much more open to things than we are.

I think that that yes they might. I think that they are more open and more innocent than some adults. I think that they are not necessarily willing to disregard or try to rationalize what they saw.

Congrats on the releases!!

I dont think they are extra sensitive. I just think that they are more open to the possibility. They havent become jaded as many do when they go up.

I think that children have more open minds, so they may be more sensitive to the paranormal!

Children most definitely do have a greater sensitivity to seeing ghosts. See, Their brains havent ruled out what this world says is right and wrong. As they get older, they hear about all things science related and their parents tell them imaginary friends arent real. (And yes, I believe imaginary friends are actually spirits.)

and thats what i think =D l0l

I do think that both children and animals have a greater sensitivity to seeing ghosts! Adults are to busy and have to little fantasy to notice ghosts.

Ohhh I'd love to win!! And HUGE congratulations to Marley!! WELL DONE! :)

I definitely think children can see ghosts, spirits and all that supernatural/spiritual stuff that. As some other comments have said; I think our minds are much more open, innocent and willing to consider the 'impossible' at such a young age. People drill it into our heads as we grow up that spirits aren't real, if you can see something or hear something another person can't then there's some wrong with you.

What do I say? Balderdash! I believe in spirits :)

Yes I believe that they can, and I have two children that when they were babies I don't think we were all they were seeing. It is said that children minds are open, and not closed off by a long life of what we call "knowledge" of what we say should be real and what should not be. So most definetly yes they see more than we do.
