A New Deal!

Sorry for the late post, but it's been a crazy-busy, exciting day. I'm thrilled to share my news here with my Buzz sistahs and our readers. Without further ado...

PUBLISHERS LUNCH DEAL

Marley Gibson’s RADIATE, by bestselling author of the GHOST HUNTRESS series, the fictionalized version of her own battle to overcome cancer as a teenage cheerleader through humor, humility, and perseverance for Spring 2012, again to Julia Richardson at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, by Deidre Knight at The Knight Agency (NA).

I can't tell you how excited I am about writing this book. It's very near and dear to my heart because the story will be loosely based on my own experiences when I had cancer in 1982 and was a varsity cheerleader.

There won't be anything angsty, bitter, or negative about it. It's about facing adversity and overcoming anything. I really hope this book will be an inspiration to teens coping with cancer. I often wondered WHY I had to go through that so many years ago...maybe THIS is the reason!

Time to celebrate!

Update from the Road, News, and Olympic Moment

Like Tera's post, I am on the move these days. I did a paranormal conference in Indiana this past weekend at this old, old art deco theatre where we had a TON of paranormal activity and then we turned the RV east back to Boston. We did a stop in Gettysburg and are back on the road today headed home. It's been a long, productive roadtrip and there's been a lot of plotting along the way, as well.

While I've been traveling, I got some incredibly awesome news from my agent. Check it out!

International rights: Children's Russian rights to Marley Gibson's THE GHOST HUNTRESS: The Awakening, The Guidance, and The Reason series, to AST, by Whitney Lee of The Fielding Agency on behalf of Elaine Spencer at The Knight Agency.

How cool is that? Ghost Huntress is coming out in Russian! As a child of the Cold War, I find this amazing...and fantastic. It won't be out for a year, but I'm dying to see how the cover is going to look and see my words in another language.

Finally, I wanted to send my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Canadian women's ice skater, Joannie Rochette, who lost her mother two days ago and went ahead and skated last night to a personal best. It's stories like hers that truly represent the true Olympic spirit and the dedication and passion of these athletes.

Hugs to everyone!

Good Luck, Good News, Good Grief!

I wanted to send my love, hugs, best wishes, and cheers to fellow Buzz Girls, Tera and Tina for the Rita Awards this week in Washington, DC. Even though I can't be there, I'm with you gals in spirit and I hope there's a tie and they have to give you each a pretty golden trophy.

I have some awesome news to share! My wonderful editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has signed me on to do TWO more titles in the GHOST HUNTRESS series, bringing the total number of books to five! I couldn't be happier!!! I'm hard at work finishing up Book 3 - GHOST HUNTRESS: THE REASON and can't wait to come up with ideas for books #4 and #5!

I've been on the go since June 17th, traveling around, doing conferences, selling books, doing signings, seeing friends and family. It's been exhausting, but exhilarating at the same time. I've been able to spend some down time at the beach and I got to parasail (wow!) and go waverunning with dolphins (double wow!) and snorkel and just enjoy the summer sun. But there's work to be done. As I said, I have to turn in Book 3, start promoting Book 2 and also start promoting my non-fiction book THE OTHER SIDE: A TEEN'S GUIDE TO GHOST HUNTING AND THE PARANORMAL, as well as my other non-fiction book CHRISTMAS MIRACLES. I'm headed to Baton Rouge, LA this weekend for the BabelCon Conference and then will be headed back to Boston to regroup.

To anyone going to the RWA National Conference in DC, have a great time!!

Hugs,

Can't get enough on ghost hunting?

I'm pleased to finally be able to announce a new book deal! Whooohoooo!!

General/Non-Fiction: GHOST HUNTRESS YA series author Marley Gibson with star of truTV's HAUNTING EVIDENCE Patrick Burns's and KTLK FM's Darkness Radio host Dave Schrader's GHOST HUNTING: THE INS AND OUTS OF PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS, a look at the how-to's of proper and effective paranormal investigations, again to Julia Richardson at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, by Deidre Knight at The Knight Agency (NA).
And check out the awesome cover!

This "how to" guide will be out in September and will be a companion to my GHOST HUNTRESS series. If you've ever wanted to know the ins and outs of proper ghost hunting...this is the book for you. It's available pre-order from Amazon.com!

I had a blast writing it and I hope the amateur ghost hunters and huntresses will pick it up and enjoy what they learn. It was fun writing a non-fic book and it was especially nice to get it done with two reknowned people in the paranormal field, Patrick Burns and Dave Schrader, who have been nothing but supportive of me since I got into ghost investigations.

Thanks for letting me share!
