Marley is on her way back to Boston

First of all, sorry to all of you living vicariously through the blog that I didn't get to post on Saturday. My internet service ran out...blah...blah...was having a blast....blah...couldn't force myself to post after getting home at 11pm last night! So here are a few memories that I missed. The conference was so wonderful. I met so many amazing authors and I consider myself lucky to call them not only collegues, but friends.
Here is Marley helping Heather with her moderator responsibilities at the YA workshop, It's Not Cheating If It's With A Younger Guy. The speakers were our very own Buzz Girl, Simone Elkeles (who was hilarious, as usual), Stephen Barbara from The Donald Maass Agency, and the adorable Shannon Greenland(author of the Model Spy books).

Heather & her agent, Stephen Barbara at the Golden Pen party where Heather got the boot for selling her first book, Never Cry Werewolf. We ate the most delicious warm brownie dessert and watched a fun skit. The theme was A View to a Sale.

The champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries that my awesome bookclub sent!

Marley reading her Rita/Golden Heart program. Note the lady glancing suspiciously at us. We got that a lot!

Me & Dona.

The Queen of Teen Fiction: Caridad "Barb" Ferrer
Everyone is so proud of Barb. I got goosebumps & still do when I heard her name called. She was so poised. I felt so honored to know her when she got up and took "her" moment of glory to help other young adult authors in the future. I have no doubt that there will be a YA RITA category next year! Thanks, Barb!
Me & Tina. She's doing that weird thing with her arm so you don't see her glass of wine. Busted, Tina.

All the Buzz Girls looking fancy!

Dallas was the bomb but San Fran is going to ROCK! :)

xo,

Steph

Thanks for all the updates and sanfran will rock because I am going to be there and you and I are going to party! I may not be a buzz girl(why is that anyway;-) but I know how to buzz with the best of them! So glad you all had a good time and loved marley's adventures.

Steph, I am splitting my mouth smiling as I see these pictures and take a walk down what already is memory lane!

But if memory serves me, I wasn't holding a glass of wine out of the picture...I was trying to pull another Buzz Girl in. ;) Hey, it's my story and I'm sticking to it!

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys seriously didn't have me at the podium in the YA talk, did you?! HA HA HA HA HA HA! You know, I'll never be able to meet Stephen in person now.

Love you guys. This is priceless! You made not going to Dallas worth it.

Hugs!

Marley *was* everywhere. Sort of like Starbucks, except in Dallas, of course. :)

And yes, you HAVE to meet Stephen in person. He's the best!

We're going to have to crown some honorary Buzz Girls, ladies! So many peeps want to Buzz along with us. :)

Hugs!

Heath

Hi Buzz Girls,
It was great to finally meet everyone. Especially you, Marley. You have such a sparkling personality. You were everywhere, just buzzing around.

What a perfect wrap up of the Marley adventures (and perfect lead in to our conference memories week). Now we have to think of something big to do for next year, since we'll all be there!

And you might not have seen Marley as much as others because she spent a lot of time in my purse. I'm still not sure what she was looking for in there--it's not like I had any money or anything. =)

OMG. Choking on my coffee. How is it that I saw Heather & Dona and felt Steph's presence in the room and NEVER SAW MARLEY???

OMG...I had an e-mail last night from someone (I was part of a long list of recipients) that said...are you ready?...

"Great seeing you in Dallas."

LOLOLOLOL!!!!

It was great seeing Adios win the RITA! Next year it's a YA year, for sure! I think we have four entries just between the BUZZ girls!

OMG, Marley, that is soooo funny!!! Personally, I know I saw you just about every time I saw Steph and Tera...imagine that...

And Simone, yep, the Buzz Girls alone are going to give the YA Rita a strong start next year!
