The Write Stuff

My two favorite “writer” t-shirts have hit the dust lately. The first, purchased at a Romance Writers of America conference, was hot pink and read “Careful what you say or it could end up in my next novel.” The other, picked up at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe, Arizona, read, “Imaginary Character.”

I am hoping to find one or two new ones at the Romance Writers of America conference in Washington, D.C. next week. But in case I don’t, thought I’d do a little shopping on-line. And I have to say I’m quite amused by:

and

How about you, any favorite t-shirt sayings, writer-related or otherwise?

No, but I'd really like to find out where you found the coffee and the plot line shirt! Good grief! I love that one! Where can I get it? I suck at internet searching. *look of fright* Where'd the card catalog go?

SM, I found both of these (as well as some super-cute math and band geek t-shirts in the past) at cafepress.com. In fact, try this link:

Happy shopping!

Hi Tina,

Not to shamelessly plug my own online writer's shop, although I guess I am, you might find a couple of new favorite tees here: http://www.cafepress.com/writer_chick.

:-)

I got my agent and editor a cute tee one year. It said 'Reading is sexy' and had a picture of a girl with a bun and glasses on it. It was super cute. I always wish I'd gotten one for myself.

I like the one that says, "careful, or you'll end up in my book." haha

Hey, Christina, thanks for that heads up. And love those, too! I can totally see myself in WRITER CHICK!

P.S. I'm Christina, too. =)

Uh-huh, Christina the Washing Machina...'tis true!

I'd suspect you (Anon) of being an old family friend, but I know I outed myself with that ridiculous nickname here a couple weeks ago in my Shannon Hale interview! =)

I have to say that "Come to the dark side. We have cookies." always makes me smile.

I saw a t-shirt once that said:

"Be careful what you tell me. It may end up in my novel."

LOL!

There's on on cafepress or used to be that says: "Please don't annoy the writer. She may put you in a book and kill you."

I've got a few writing design up on cafepress myself:

My favourite at the moment is "Life is a first draft, so why can't I go back and edit?"

I love that second shirt. Let me know what you find at the conference.

The first shirt is AWESOME. I think my favorite shirt saying is "Shakespeare Hates Your Emo Poems."

Amazing.

I have a shirt that says "I Do The Write Thing". I wore it to work on a casual Friday and some stupid twit thought it said, "I Do The White Thing" and told her supervisor. Needless to say, she looked stupid when my supervisor told her what it really said. And I no longer where that shirt to work.

Even though I didn't buy it here, Rinda Elliott over at The Write Snark has a most awesome shop for writers:
