Plague Be Gone

Today is the first day I feel like I can be back at 100% after nearly two weeks (!) of being sick. I hate being sick--who doesn't, I know--but I resent it more than usual this time because I had such plans for starting the new year off on super productive foot. And now I'm two weeks behind.
Orange Juice
Mmm, vitamin C goodness...

My general remedy for illness is sleep. When I start to feel myself getting sick (achy back, runny nose) then I try to drop everything, go to bed early, and get at least a few bonus hours of sleep on top of the regular eight. This time ... I didn't do that. I ignored the signs and my body made me pay for it. I won't ignore them again!

Anyway, my question of the day is: What do you do when you're sick? What's your favorite home remedy or guaranteed cure? Do you sleep a lot, down plenty of OJ and echinacea, or are you an over-the-counter meds person?

Hugs,
TLC

Tea, usually gree with a dollop of honey and a bigger dollop of Brandy (Blackberry brandy works just fine) but whatever you have on hand works wonders.
A lot of people use Whiskey but I prefer the Brandy. Let steam waft it's way up your nose and inhale deeply.
You'll feel like a new woman!
BTW: It may take 2 or 3, LOL and don't use full shots, half a shot glass will do ya!
Hope you're feeling better soon!

At the first sign of illness, I usually drink tea. Especially the chai latte from Starbucks! Otherwise, rest/sleep and occasionally a good walk to get the blood circulating! Glad you are feeling better!

When my friend is sick I give him 3 rules to live by.
1. Drink LOTS of Oj
2. Add a zillion pillows to your bed.
3. Get sleep!!
Hope you feel better!

I rarely get sick, but when I do, I rest a lot and let my mother-who-is-also-a-nurse take care of me :)

I'm a big fan of Campbell's Chicken and Stars when I'm sick. :) I'm so glad you are feeling better.

Sleep...sleep...and more sleep...Lipton chicken noodle soup (has to be Lipton's) and a LOT of Diet Sprite.

Glad to hear you're finally feeling better!!!

Whenever I start to feel sick, the very first thing I do...is call my mom. She ALWAYS makes me feel better--I used to feel a little guilty, but I actually read about a study where they proved that talking to your mom was just as beneficial as her being there to console you in person, and that it not only relieves immediate stress, but continues to work all day long--So I try to call my mom as often as possible!!!! It might depend on your relationship with your mother, but I have the best!!!

2nd thing--SLEEP.

3rd Comfort foods, and comfort anything--soup, favorite movies, tv, saltines and 7-up depending on what we're dealing with, anything that makes me feel better.

4th drug me up--anything and everything legal that says it will fix my symptoms.

5 lotion kleenexes.

6 netti pot--a little strange at first, but a true miracle worker for clogged sinuses and stuffy noses--and oddly, almost medatitatively soothing.

7 a humidifier

8 vicks. i hate it, but it works, and also has all those childhood memories to back it up. and it works.
