Color Me Happy!

Many of you know that I got some fantastic news last week, that my book, How to Hook a Hottie, got a nomination for the 2008 Romance Writer’s of America Best Young Adult Novel.

And that means buying a some serious dress-up wear! Not unlike, well, a prom dress. Which, as it happens, was the topic of my blogs here the past two Mondays.

So while it feels too early to actual shopping for my dress (and I’d like to think I’m going to be ten pounds slimmer come July), it’s never too early to plan.

And first up is thinking colors. I’m definitely bold. No beige for me. I love the red family: red, orange, pink, purple. But lately I’ve taken to wearing green, too. And black is always a winner. Oh, and I LOVE dark brown. And I could be talked into certain shades of blue...

As you see, I’m pretty undecided. So I’m throwing this out to our readers. Help! Look at my hair, my eyes, my complexion. What do you think is “my color?"

And warm congratulations to fellow Buzz Girl, Tera Lynn Childs on her nomination for Oh.My.Gods and Rosemary Clement-Moore for Hell Week! I am so honored and excited to be in their company!

How about pink? Your skin would look even greater with pink, in my opinion : )

Definitely bold, T. We're the young adult finalists, after all. We have to wow them all. =) I'll probably go for something in the turquoise-blue-green family, so can I call dibs? =)

I think you've looked wonderful in every color I've seen you in. But looking at the above picture, I could see you looking smashing in a lime green/chartreuse-y color.

Can't wait to see the final result!

I think maybe a really dark, shimmery blue would be nice, or a poppy pink. So much fun!
Congrats!

I think you should find something metallic-y, either gold or silver, maybe edged in sequins. And bright red lipstick. Very glam!

And I was going to tell Tera to wear aqua or turquoise but it looks like, as usual, we are thinking alike!

Tera, turquoise blue-green is yours!

I browsed through a shop yesterday, and found myself pulled toward the red/pink/purple section, but I am loving these ideas here, too!

I was reading the fine print of the RWA Bylaws and it states CLEARLY that that all nominees are to were clothes that match their book's cover. Just a little FYI. ;)

Maybe Turquoise or purple. That color isn't really the best on you...
Maybe pink? But I really like you in purple.

Chuck, match my cover? Uh, red, white and blue? Hmmm... ;)

GirlforChrist, I'm hearing a lot of votes for pink and purple...will totally be checking those out!

How about gold or silver? I also like the chocolate or cocoa brown idea.
