Second Time Around: Vacation

In celebration of the paperback release of Never Cry Werewolf by Heather Davis, we are talking are "the second time around" this week, or something we have loved even more in its second incarnation.

Which brought to mind this picture of me, taken the summer of '07, in Oahu:

If you look closely, you can see I am holding a copy of my critique partner, Kelly Parra's, book, Graffiti Girl, which I had brought along to reread.

That was my first time to Hawaii. Because I am not naturally a bathing suit wearing island girl, I had put the 50th state low on travel list, and only pretty much went because it interested my family. Well...of all of us, I think I was the one most blown away by the gorgeous beaches, rolling hills, sunsets, laid-back atmosphere, and adding becoming a total fangirl for LOST, I have been bugging my husband ever since to take me back.

And since next month we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, can you think of a better place for a get-away? Maui, here we come!

How about you? Is there a vacation spot you've visited once that you're itching to return to? (Or barring that, a place you're dying to go to?)

A comment below will make you automatically entered to win one of FIVE copies of Heather's paperback release!

Boston, particularly during the Autumn months; some of the areas are so quaint and beautiful surrounded by the Fall foliage. Also, it's cold! I adore cold weather.

I love Hawaii! I've been there many time and would jump on a plane there tomorrow, if I could. Can I sneak into your suitcase?

I've never been to Hawaii, but I've been wanting to go! A place I'd like to visit again is Toronto. I went several years ago, but there's still so much I'd like to do!

I went to Maui this past summer (first time I went anywhere, so it was definitely cool!). Everything was so gorgeous there...I would love to go back one day. :)

I'd LOVE to go to Hawaii!!!! Congrats on your 25th anniversary!!!! That's SOOOOO amazing!!!!!!

One place that I had a great (unexpected) opportunity to visit is Ireland--It was so GREEN, and I just absolutely LOVED it!!!! I was only there for a week, but I've always wanted to go back and spend more time.

Oh, I so wish to go to Hawaii someday! 13 years ago, as a new bride driving with her new groom to Florida, I got food poisoning in Illinois. Had to spend 3 days (insert yucky bodily function here, scratch that, 2) in the hotel and went home. No honeymoon. Well, unless you count those 3 days. WHICH WE DON'T!!! Ahhhh, Hawaii. Someday. (Also FL, which I've never made it to, either.)

Florida. When I went last year in February, it was so much fun! I went to Disney World, but, if I can go back, I would love to go to Universal Studios and other places in Florida that we didn't see.

I would LOVE to visit England, though. Or even Italy. Going to Europe just sounds so fun and fascinating, so when I get older, I would definitely love to travel around Europe. :)

Congrats on your 25th anniversary Tina. I hope you and your hubby have an amazing time in Hawaii! I went to Hawaii with my parents in 1990 and have been dying to go back since so that is definitely where I would go again!

Hi there, Tina! My boss goes to Hawaii at least twice a year, but he's not a beach-goer, either. He comes back with a mall tan and suitcases full of bargains. I would love to return to New York, where hubby and I honeymooned. If all goes well, I'll be there next July.

Heather, congrats on the release of Never Cry Werewolf!

My absolute, all-time favorite trip ever was to Israel and Jordan. I originally went along just to keep my mom company on her dream trip, and I had a better time than she did!

Besides hoping to go back again one day, I'd also like to visit Italy.

Yay, Tina! I love Hawaii, too. My second time on Oahu was my favorite too.

Well. I don't like the beach. Which is ironic seeing as I live in Florida. LOL. Big man eatting fish, jelly fish, birds and salt water. No thank you. Where I want to go is Scotland. Really really bad. lol.

I am dying to go to England. I had the chance when I was younger and thought I would always get more chances. Life gets busy and I still haven't made it. (think of all the reading I could do on the flight!)

I would really love to go back to Disney World. Florida is across the nation for me but I loved it once and would love it even more now.

Congrats on your 25th anniversary!!!

I'd love to go back to Japan and explore Odaiba or Yokohama. Those are my two favorite places in the world, and I'm dying to go back! Odaiba's such a futuristic looking city, it was amazing to just go around and look!
