2007 Movie Buzz

With only three days left in 2007, I decided to "try" and think back on some of the movies I saw this year and list my favorites, and some of my not-so-favorites. Keep in mind, that as the mother of two toddlers, I don't get to the theatre very much so some of these movies may not have actually come out in 2007.
I'll start with my favorite movie of 2007 which I just saw with my oldest son last Friday.
I thought Enchanted was absolutely enchanting. Amy Adams is intoxicating as an animated character and in real life. And can you ever really go wrong with Patrick Dempsey (which was the name of my first boyfriend, btw) and James Marsden? I think not. This movie was part animation/part musical/and part real life which I thought was a perfect combination.

Another fun movie I saw a few weeks ago was Fred Claus. Vince Vaughn can always be counted on for some laughs. Seeing Ludacris made into an elf is worth the price of admission alone.

Other 2007 favs: Disturbia, Transformers, Bee Movie (only saw 3/4 of this one because I took my youngest, big mistake!), Christmas with the Kranks(this one is a few years old but I really liked it), The Astronaut Farmer, Superbad, Knocked Up, Because I Said So, Waitress (not really a fav but I liked it.) and Holes.

NOT SO FAVORITES: Mr. Brooks (it was too weird), Evan Almighty (I love Steve Carell but this one was horrible), In the land of women, Reign Over Me, & Evening.

For 2008, I'm really looking forward to 27 Dresses starring Katherine Heigl, James Marsden, Ed Burns and Judy Greer. It looks adorable. Untraceable starring Diane Lane looks good too. How about you, any favs, not so favs, or looking forward to's?

Steph, thanks for your thoughts on all these movies! I'm embarrassed to say I saw very few 2007 movies (I think only Ocean's 13 and Bourne Ultimatim--which, come to think of it, ties in with my 2007 Hottie pic from last week) but I appreciate these recommendations. And Enchanted is definitely on my list to see!

Thanks for the list Steph! We're going to Pay-Per-View OCEAN'S 13 this weekend. I want to see ENCHANTED, but haven't gotten to the theatre. I think my favorite movie of the year was BORAT. = )

LOVED - Enchanted, Stardust, Transformers, Hairspray, August Rush, Bourne Ultimatum, Ocean's 13, The Golden Compass (really don't know what all the hoopla was about regarding that movie)

NOT SO MUCH - Hitman, National Treasure Book of Secrets

Still want to see P.S. I Love You and thought I wanted to see Atonement but I heard it was just SO sad.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING: The Dark Knight, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, 27 Dresses, Speed Racer, Hellboy II, Jumper, and some action packed movie with Angelina Jolie.

Okay, I slacked on movies this year. I only saw Bee Movie and Hairspray in theatres (both great) and I just watched Ocean's 13 on DVD (which I have to love, because those guys are just loveable).

I'm dying to see Enchanted and will probably go see National Treasure 2 (even though I know it will probably stink, because I'm a sucker for a good treasure hunt movie). Still have to see Stardust and Transformers and am waiting to see Golden Compass until I read the book.
