I'm Melting....

Icicle Art, originally uploaded by Tera Lynn Childs.

After being snowed in for a few days and then venturing out (only to find the roads outside our neighborhood had been cleared all along) the snow and ice are finally melting in Oklahoma City. This is not my favorite part of winter, because this means the red Oklahoma dirt in our backyard will soon turn into mud. And that mud will soon cover Daisy's feet.

No, I love the pristine white snow, the ice-covered trees (as long as they don't break and blow a power transformer, thankyouverymuch), and the cozy feeling of curling up in front of the fireplace with a book and a mug of something hot.

What about you? What are your favorite parts (if any) of winter?

Hugs,
TLC

Oh, I am envisioning dark red mud, Tera, and it's not a pretty thought!

I enjoy the cooler temps and the wind in my face, but we're talking temps in the '40's...not the winter you're talking!

Hope you thaw out soon...

My favorite part of winter is when ice and snow coat the branches of the trees, looking surreal and magical in the sunlight.

I love the fresh snow storms and when it's blowing so hard that it's horizontal. I don't like driving in it, though. Much prefer watching from a warm perch. LOL!
