Lamest play list EVA!

I'm big enough to admit when I need help. I need help. For the last two months, I've been walking four miles a day (I've lost 23 pounds so far!) And while I'm pretty knowledgeable about the latest movies, books, and not to shabby in the fashion dept, when it comes to music, I'm kind of clueless. I usually know the latest pop songs out but I'm not really hip to some of the more obscure bands like I used to be.
I'm super-sick of listening to my current play list of some of my favorite (okay, not so such anymore)oldies and some newbies.

In a plea for help, I'm going to share my list with you all so that you will take pity on me and recommend your current fav!

Help me fill my lame iPod (I have one of those huge white ones the size of a stick of gum instead of the cute tiny colored ones. I know, right?)

Keep in mind, the faster the song, the faster I walk. Although I do have a few slow songs on my list currently. Thanks for your help!

Stephanie's incredibly lame playlist~

Dancing Queen- ABBA

Once Bitten, Twice Shy-Great White

4 Minutes- JT & Madonna

Work It- Missy Elliott

Cherry Pie- Warrant

Paralyzer-Finger Eleven

Love You Till The End- The Pogues

No Sleep Tonight- The Faders

Sexyback- JT

Dancing Queen- ABBA

Gonna Make You Sweat- C&C Music Factory

Save All Your Love- Great White

SOS-Rihanna

Pump It- Black-Eyed Peas

Girlfriend-Avril Lavigne

Hot N Cold-Katy Perry

I told you I needed help.

xo,

Stephanie

I love anything Dance/Trance/House/Deep House, anything with an electric beat that gets the heart going. = )

My favorite workout mix is 24.7 minutes long, but the pacing is fast enough that I would die if it were any longer. Maybe some tunes are lame, but they work well together. (Some of my fav songs aren't great choices for a workout mix.)

Paralyzer-Finger Eleven
Gimme More-Britney Spears
SexyBack-JT
Who Knew-Pink
How Far We've Come-Matchbox 20
Take A Picture-Filter

Congrats on the weight loss, Steph! If you're up for some '80's stuff, I love Van Halen's JUMP and PANAMA and Michael Jackson's BEAT IT and BILLIE JEAN for power walking...

My workout playlist:
Big Girl You Are Beautiful by Mika
(seriously it is addictive with the cute bubbly upbeat sound, and has totally turned into my mantra when I feel bad about what the mirror shows me)
Viva La Vida by Coldplay
(they have upped their game, and their new album is AMAZING)
It's Like That by Run DMC
(enough said)
Shake Your Pom Pom by Missy Elliot
(this one usually prompts a solo dance party followed by fits of giggles from my friend and I)
Roll it Girl by J-Status ft. Rihanna
Back in Black by ACDC
Beat it remake by Fall Out Boy
Free Your Mind by En Vouge
Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Deadman
Doorbell by The White Stripes
Rock the Cradle of Love by Billy Idol
(just picturing Billy with his trademark scowl is enough to pump me when I hear this song)
Brand New Key by The Dollyrots
(tre cute)
Sunshowers by M.I.A
Low by Flor-rida
Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne
Fergalicious by Fergie

These should give you something fun and new to listen to.

I'm not exactly cool in the music department, but if you want upbeat & uptempo, I'd recommend:

1980s:
Thomas Dolby: She Blinded Me With Science
Thomas Dolby: Silk Pyjamas
Lene Lovich: New Toy
The Weathergirls: It's Raining Men
Adam & the Ants: Stand and Deliver
Toni Basil: Mickey
The Polecats: Make a Circuit With Me
ABC: Poison Arrow
Monroes: What Do All the People Know
The Fixx: One Thing Leads to Another
Jo Boxers: Just Got Lucky
Falco: Der Kommissar
Katrina and the Waves: Walking on Sunshine
The Romantics: What I Like About You
English Beat: Mirror in the Bathroom
Specials: Rat Race
Talk Talk: Talk Talk
Vapors: Turning Japanese
Re-Flex: Politics of Dancing

Okay, I was going to have a list of songs from the 80s, and then one from later, but this is so long I'll just leave it!

Good luck!

Cara

Congrats on the 23 pounds! I think you're my new hero, lol! I love walking and will start it back up when I get back from Mexico (I've been here for a month). As far as music is concerned, I have a bit of everything on my playlist. A few songs that make me move when I'm walking: Let's Get Loud by Jennifer Lopez, When I Grow Up by PCD, Anything by Missy, Anything by Ciara...the list goes on.
