But to increase your odds of calling it right (or closest to right), understand that I’m not a first draft writer or a power writer. I’m what is called a final draft writer, which means I don’t move ahead until what I’ve got on the screen feels “right.” So if I get stuck or have some brilliant idea on how to revise what I’ve already got, it could definitely impact my page count. So really, for your best shot at winning, keep your guess between about 10 and 60.
