Was Santa good to you this year?

This is kind of a lazy post because I am sick today. Sorry. But I thought it would be kind of fun to hear what everybody got for Christmas. Here's my list:

1) 2 Target giftcards(which I already used) to buy: The Devil Wears Prada DVD, a ridiculously expensive but adorable notebook, the 3rd book in Kate Brian's Private series (which I am addicted to), some new eyeshadow, Candyland (for my son)

2) some money-always good, already gone

3)a black long-sleeved Lands End shirt (my mom really gets crazy with original ideas at Christmas, ha)

4) some of those really soft slipper sock thingies- in pink- love those

5)a snowglobe with cardinals & Christmas theme

6)Christmas themed tealight candle holder

7)It's a Wonderful Life DVD

8)Some bath & body stuff

I think that's about it. My husband and I don't buy for each other because it would be a total disaster. We just kind of have an open policy during the year to buy what we want within reason. He, of course, has a little more reason than I do.

So what did everybody else get?????

xo,

Steph

Sorry you're under the weather, Steph, but still, a very cute post!

Santa is always good to me, but the present I am most excited about this year might sound boring to others, but I know is a gift that is going to keep on giving.

It's a mounted desk lamp, which my husband has already installed, and sheds a wonderful glow on a semi- darkened portion of my desk. The other night I turned out all other lights and felt halo'd inside its glow, and got a great amount of my book revision work done, so I can already tell you--this lamp is a winner.

Hope Santa brought you all wonderful things, too.

I'm so sorry you're sick, Steph! Hope you get to feeling better soon--like, in time for the kids to go back to school. :)

My husband and I don't buy for each other, either. We usually do something in January, around my birthday, which is on the 11th.

But I still got some cool stuff:

1) A 6-quart slow-cooker from my sister. I know that sounds strange, but it was one of the things I had asked for, since my always-used crockpot was held together with black electrical tape!

2) A light-up magnifying mirror from my mom and stepdad. I had asked for this, too, since I seem to have 30 and inherited some wonderful male hormones that cause hair to grow in places that it really shouldn't!! LOL

3) Two CD's from my sister: DAUGHTRY by Chris Daughtry and STRAIGHT OUTTA LYNWOOD by Weird Al. I've already listened to them both about 20 times.

4) A pair of those soft slipper/slock things like you got, in pink and orange, that I will only remove now when I have to wash them or go to work!

5) A day planner for 2007, which I really needed.

6) The DVD of OVER THE HEDGE, since I'm addicted to kids movies!

7) A calendar with cats, some sweats, new kitchen utensils. All of which I needed, as well.

My kids made out like bandits. TOOOOOOOOOO many toys, all of which are now strewn throughout the entire house!

Hey Steph, hope you feel better soon!

I got the cutest little digital camera, a wonderful cashmere sweater, a new coat and scarf (I'm a huge scarf fan) one of those magic bullet blenders- which I'm hoping will be good for making both smoothies and guacamole, the two things I make almost every single day! A Smashing Pumpkins long sleeve t-shirt, and tons of jewelry. My mom and my husband compete to see who can waste the most money on jewelry.

I feel for you, Steph! I'm sick, too. Hope you feel better soon.

OMG, you guys -- I got the best present mailed to me from a friend in my old hometown -- a book put together by students and teachers from the school where I substitute taught for the last six years! It was all, "You rock!" "Good luck!" "You were my favorite sub!" And, one sweet kid even wrote, "Can't wait to read your book!"

Totally bawled on the couch for like, twenty minutes...

It was such a wonderful experience and brought me to writing YA, so I'll always love those years teaching.

The other cool present was an ornament with the city skyline my new friends got me. It's emblazoned with 2006 to remind me of my first Christmas in the city. Sweet these people out here. :)
