Giveaway week continues...

Happy holidays everyone!!!

This week the Buzz Girls are celebrating books we loved and giving away fun gifts! Hmm, some books I loved as a teen....

There was the entire Anne of Green Gables series. Who didn't love the stories of the impish orphan who charms a whole town (and that dashing Gilbert at that!) I still love those books and recently, I purchased the entire boxed set as a "memory lane" thing.

I loved all of Lurlene McDaniel's books, even though I knew someone was going to die at the end of each one. They were all stories of teens who had chronic diseases, or terrible accidents...generally short life spans. I was pretty "emo" then and loved my once-per-week cries over my literary dramas.

I loved Lois Duncan's realistic spine-tinglers. My favorite was DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU, a story about a teenage girl whose family goes into the witness protection program after her father is threatned. I loved all her books, but that one was my favorite. Pretty, popular girl loses her whole life and tries to cope. Great stuff.

For my giveaway this week...

That's right! An early release signed copy of HOW TO SALSA IN A SARI! To win, just leave a comment for me telling me your favorite teen read!
Have a great weekend!

I didn't have a favorite teen book. When I was in high school I was reading adult romance books. Barely graduated becuz I read them so damn much.

Actually, in high school I didn't read much at all. Only the bare minimum to do well in my classes. (And the occasional category romance I snuck at my grandma's house.) But I read tons in elementary school and after college...the inbetween is just kind of a void. Maybe that's why I read and write those books now. =)

Here are some "teen" favourites...

Blood and Chocolate - Annette Curtis Klause
Anne Brashares series The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Monica Hughes trilogy Keep of the Isis Light
oh and definitely The Chrysalids by John Wyndham

I'll stop there because otherwise I could just keep going LOL.

I was devoted to Sweet Valley High before discovering the wonders in adult romances. Another teen (at least I think it was teen) book that I loved was "Ghosts of Departure Point." I still think about that story at random times.

I can't wait to read your book, Dona!

I have already pre-ordered your book, Dona, so I'm just playing for fun. But some months ago I talked about MR. AND MRS. BO JO JONES, which I read over and over as a teen. I have since found a used copy, and am re-reading it...and loving it all over again! It stands the test of time.

I absolutely love the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Her books transport you to another world. (If Harry Potter series counts as 'teenage' they are definitely first on the list.) :)

See, this is how I know we were meant to be friends...I didn't think anyone else read Lurlene McDaniels! Or even remembered her, for that matter :) And I loved Don't Look Behind You. I read a ton of Christopher Pike back then too.
