Hi there, Buzzies. Last night, Editor Fabu sent me a mockup of the FORGIVE MY FINS cover. And let me tell you, it's purdy! The girl looks exactly like Lily. I'm not at liberty to share yet, but I want your opinions on covers in general. What are some of your all-time favorite YA covers (particularly paranormal/fantasy ones)?
Name your faves and I'll choose one winner to receive an ultra top secret first five pages of FORGIVE MY FINS. (This won't even be on my website for months!) Comment away.
Hugs,
TLC

My favorite YA covers usually have actual people and not illustrations. I like the blue blood covers from melissa de la cruz. I also like the morganville vampires UK covers by Rachel Caine. The rachel vincent shifter series covers are cool too. Only there not YA...
Good luck everyone and have a great week.

OMG, this is a hard question to answer because I think it varies greatly. I really find EON: Dragoneye Reborn catchy, The Summoning, Keeper of the Winds, Blue Bloods, Nobody's Princess, Song of the Sparrow, and Along for the Ride are just a few that I like (looking at my walls), but they speak to me differently...
Hard question! Right now I'd have to say my favorite cover id Goddess of Yesterday (the newer one). The orange and yellow background just popped out at me, and the model is gorgeous.
Congrats on your cover art!
Well besides the OMG and GBC covers (wink wink) only joking although I do like them. I liked Holly Black's covers for Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside.
I really like the cover of Revealers by Amanda Marrone. I really like metallic or sparkly details on books and simple designs.
And Evermore by Alyson Noel is so beautiful. I love the color combination and the tie in to the story. Plus the flower is the only shiny part (which I really like.)
I don't like books with too much going on (like City of Bones) or illustrations.
I think my fav YA cover of all time is A.S. King's The Dust of 100 Dogs.

I don't read much paranormal, but from a sheer jump-off-the-shelf-at-me POV, I bought The Luxe and the first Shopaholic books because I loved their super-feminine covers.
The Devouring and Revealers are really cool.
The cover of Fire and Graceling by Kristin Cashore are awesome.

I love the covers for the whole Uglies series.
My favorite YA cover is the Twilight cover. It is simple and beautiful. It is the reason that I bought it and not because it is popular. I bought my copy just before it got popular. The Twilight cover made me appreciate the covers of other YA books.
I think the cover for Wings is really elegant and cool.
I love these covers:
- Larklight, Starcross, and Mothstorm by Philip Reeve
- Evermore by Alyson Noel
- The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong
- The Everafter (forgot author, but it's coming out in a few months)
- Oracles of Delphi Keep (forgot author)
- Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier (I don’t know if I spelled that right.)
- And Oh. My. Gods. of course!
There are others, too many to name, so I’ll end here.

I think alot of us do judge a book by it's cover -- at first glance. So a good, strong cover is important! It makes you want to pick the book up, and then once you read the copy on the back of the book, hopefully you've found a keeper! I have to say that all the Buzz Girls have had great covers recently. I love both of my covers! I hope to have The Clearing cover up soon!

I like the OMG cover with the statue. I also like both of these: http://www.stephaniefowers.com/. They're cute books and I loved the stories! :) And, the author was my roommate!! How cool is that?!
Good day everyone!
I'm new here, just come to say hello:)
