I longed for summer temperatures all winter but it doesn't take many days of 80+ degrees for me to break out the refreshing treats. My boys eat lots of popsicles. Lots of times I trick them by blending fruit, yogurt, and ice then freezing it into popsicles. They really think they are getting away with something when I let them eat a "popsicle" for breakfast.
My favorite summer treat is shaved ice. Or is it shave ice? I could never figure that one out. My favorite flavor combo is coconut (which I hate the real thing), blueberry, and pineapple. It smells like suntan oil and tastes delicious.
Are you a shave ice junkie? What's your favorite flavor? Do you have another favorite way to cool off?

Mmmmmm....popsicles.....
I am with you on Shave Ice versus Shaved. I often see the signs say Shave but Shaved makes more sense!
Anyway, put me down for strawberry!
And when my kids were little, I used to make homemade popsicles, too...including just freezing bottled water, which they actually really liked!
I love popsicles. Strawberry is the best!
It smells like suntan oil and tastes delicious.
Now there's a sentence I never expected to see! :-)
Locally we always just called them snow cones, so we didn't have to decide if the ice were shaved or not..
I like snowballs - which are like shave ice, but with chunkier ice and are served in cups. My favorite is chocolate with marshmallow on top. I have my own machine and make them at home all the time!
Mmm -- those pictures look good. I really like the original Big Sticks during the summer. They don't last long with 6 people in the house who like them too.
I love shaved ice! Tangerine and black cherry is my fav! I eat anything frozen all like that year round though, I love Popsicles and Italian Ice a lot too
