Here in the Midwest, the temperature took a serious plunge this week. We went from the mid-80's last week to night-time temps in the 40's. And I am so not complaining.

I love fall. Sweatshirts and jeans. No A/C or furnace. The first pot of chili since last winter. And most of all, I love to be able to turn on my stove without the A/C kicking on. I'm no Rachael Ray but I do love to try. One of my favorite things to make in the fall is a pumpkin roll. It is sort of a like a pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing in the middle. If you haven't tried one of these, you just have to. I use Libby's recipe, which you can find here, http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/detail.aspx?id=32372

And after five months of wearing nothing but flip-flops, I'm actually excited about my sock drawer. I may even treat myself to some new Gold Toes. I know, I'm so lame.

Okay, spill. What is your favorite way to celebrate the arrival of fall?

Ok, this is where I meant to write, I love fall! Duh! I love yummy apples -- fresh apple pie! The sound of school buses on the street. The crisp (for a few weeks at least) leaves all over the ground. The smell of woodfires. And... I love layering all my yummy scarves and fall coats. Fall rocks.

hugs,

Heath

Fall is my favorite season, as well. Makes me think of crunchy, colorful leaves and thick, hearty soups. And while some of you mention football, my mind goes to the marching bands!

It is all about the marching band. Sitting in the stadium as close to the drum line as possible is the best thing about football game.

Wearing my argyle knee high socks every day. I love them. The ones from Gap are the best and my sister buys me a pair every year for Christmas. And of course high school soccer games and marching band...my favorite part are the gloves, since i play the clarinet I get super cool fingerless ones!

I have to say, the taupe and brown socks look gorgeous. Sadly though, I don't own a pair of knee-high scoks, I'll have to get some though. they look HOT with shorts.
I'm not much of a fall person, I like to spring into action..hehe.. but I like the weather. How it's all chilli in the morning, then it gets windy and sunndy during the day.
