********BUZZ GIRL BOOKSIGNING***********

Stephanie Hale and Simone Elkeles

Six copies of How to Ruin a Summer Vacation (one for each Buzz girl), a blue Illini baseball cap (for hubby), a 20 oz. Coke(for me), a 20 oz. Sprite (for the offspring), and the most adorable pink girly pen(total impulse buy at the register)-$93.21

One hour on the parking meter when only twenty five minutes were used because offspring wouldn't sit still any longer- $1

Burning half a tank of gas getting lost on the University of Illinois campus just as the homecoming football game was letting out while offspring were juiced up on Sprite in the backseat- $15(just guessing here) & quite a bit of sanity

Getting to spend time with a Buzz Girl at her alma mater booksigning and get my own signed copy- PRICELESS!!!!!!
*************************************************************************************
Now get out and get your own copy! It won't be as cool as mine, because mine's signed by the uber-famous author, but I guarantee you'll still love it! :)

Cool! I love the picture, and can't wait to read the book. Simone and I share the same agent (Hi, Nadia!), so I've the pleasure of meeting her and hanging out with her at a conference. Simone is an upbeat, charasmatic person, and I know that any heroine she creates is gonna be a favorite of mine, too.

Thanks for sharing this!

Okay, I'm alive again and back to blogging. Oh, man! That signing took up the entire day, I seriously almost fell asleep on the drive home. Luckily my friend Ruth accompanied me to keep me awake. At the signing, my day totally brightened when a BBG Girl (books, boys, buzz) walked in the door. A HUGE thank-you to Stephanie for coming and supporting me! I met a lot of cool people and Stephanie's boys are just about the most adorable kids you'll ever see.
Thanks, everyone, for your support!

How to Ruin a Summer Vacation in bookstores NOW! (Go run out and get one...I have proof that people drive 45 minutes just to get their hands on one-right, Steph?)

Just call your local library and ask them to order it. Most libraries will order books if requested by their patrons.

Just wait until you read Leaving Paradise, it's coming out in April. The guy in that book is equally as hot as Avi in How to Ruin a Summer Vacation. LP used to be called Caleb Becker is Back (which I just found out my publicist liked better than Leaving Paradise but he was outvoted)

What do you like better- Caleb Becker is Back or Leaving Paradise?

TinaFerraro said...

I actually like Caleb Becker if Back, Simone, for what it's worth.

But--speaking of liking, or should I say loving--guess what I stayed up late finishing last night?!? HOW TO RUIN A SUMMER VACATION. And yes, Avi is a TO DIE FOR HERO, the book is loads of fun, and I really felt like I was in Israel. A great read, for which I thank you so much!

And tell me, have you spent time in Israel?

Tina, you are my heroine! Thanks for reading How2Ruin and liking the book. YOU ROCK! (but I knew that even before you read my book)

Actually, my father was Israeli and my husband is Israeli. I met my husband on a group trip to Israel when I was 16 (25 American teens and 25 Israeli teens touring Israel for 6 weeks) We re-met six years after the trip and married three years after that. Long distance relationship because he was in the Israeli army.

I've been to Israel more times than I can count on two hands and have lots of family there. It's the most beautiful country for all faiths. Thanks, Tina, for telling me you felt like you were in Israel. As a writer, it gives me the warm fuzzies!

A-ha Simone, just as I suspected! You did such a great job of conveying the atmosphere, the little details as well as the big, that I kept thinking you wrote from experience.

And you actually dated and married a former Israeli soldier? So in my mind, I can think of Amy living happily-ever-after with Avi?

Thanks for sharing that.

I have the sequel to How to Ruin a Summer Vacation, so you'll be able to find out more about Amy and what she does next. She really is a great character to love and hate.
